4 Week Beginner Class - Laurel Golf Center (MD)


What You Will Experience

Each session will focus on the various golf skills you will use while playing. In addition to learning the basics, you will be guided onto the golf course to put your skills into action in a casual, friendly setting.

Four, 60 min sessions for 4 consecutive Mondays beginning Sept 9- Sept 30, 2019. (Sept 9, 16, 23, 30) 
Classes are 6PM PM EDT - 7PM EDT.

Here is what Golf Clinics will cover:

Get Rolling:

• How to navigate around the club house and practice areas

• The many social benefits of golf on and off the course

• Suggestions on what to wear for golf fashion and comfort

• All about golf clubs and why there are different clubs in your bag

• Putting - the excitement of rolling the ball into the hole

Hit Close:

• Warm up, stretching and wellness tips

• The best ways to hold the club and get ready before you take a swing

• Hitting the ball close to the hole - chipping, pitching and other shots from short distances

• Caring for the course

Swing, Swing, Swing:

• Getting comfortable with the full swing

• Using your irons to get the ball in the air and onto the green

• Learn the “lingo”, like fairway & rough, tee box & green, divot & bunker and more

• Having more fun using “It’s Okay” and “Ready Golf” hints

Driving School:

• Swinging a driver and other “big” clubs to hit the long shots

• Starting your play from the correct tee markers – use TEE IT FORWARD to have more fun

• Helpful short cuts to save time while playing

Ready, Set….. Go Golf:

• Linking all that you’ve learned to play a hole

• Tips for playing in groups, on teams and other fun ways to play

• Becoming more comfortable on the course and where to drive the cart

• Review of the Rules and keeping score

• More opportunities to come back and play more golf


Richard is a true Baltimore native and golf enthusiast. Richard graduated from the University of Maryland - Eastern Shore's PGA Golf Management Program in 2014. He was also elected to PGA membership that same year. Richard is the 1st Assistant Golf Professional at The Suburban Club in Baltimore, Maryland and has been there for 5 years. Richard is passionate about growing this great game through teaching junior and women's golf.

There will be no refunds issued for this session for tardiness or missed classes. If it is raining 30 min before class, the class is canceled. The rain date for this session is Oct 7, 2019. There will be no refunds or make-ups if you miss the rain date.
